Unlike the grueling marathons of its contemporaries, it offers a refined, high-stakes experience that respects your time, blending intense PvPvE combat with a satisfying loot-and-extract loop that feels fair for solos and squads alike.

How is it possible that a short game like Dispatch is this jam-packed with absolutely cool, hilarious, and outright epic moments? A lot of “short” narrative games feel like extended demos or proof-of-concept experiments. Dispatch feels like a short but fully realized eight-episode season that just happens to be interactive.

How do you follow up a game that redefined its genre and was universally praised as a modern masterpiece? In Hades II, Supergiant Games has answered that impossible question with a resounding success. The original Hades perfected the rogue-lite formula with kickass combat, endless procedural mechanics, and clever, character-driven storytelling. Yet, incredibly, Hades II has managed to top every single aspect of the first game and made them better.

The series fell hard, but Battlefield 6 has managed to pull off an undeniable turnaround, leading to one of the biggest selling launches in the franchise's history. It’s a massive comeback, succeeding where its predecessor failed. However, behind that success, Battlefield 6 still doesn't quite hit the notes required to be considered the ultimate Battlefield experience.

Ghost of Yotei, the newest installment in the acclaimed feudal Japan action series, shifts the stage to Ezo/Hokkaido Japan, introducing a new protagonist, Atsu, and a razor-sharp revenge narrative. Set during a tumultuous period, the game follows Atsu as she embraces the path of the Ghost to hunt down her targets. While built upon the foundations of its predecessors, Yotei immediately distinguishes itself by prioritizing refined gameplay flow and anti-fatigue design over overwhelming map density, setting it up as a truly modern open-world experience.

Split Fiction is an exclusively two-player experience defined by its literal split screen. One player navigates a high-fantasy setting of elves, dragons, and ancient ruins. The other exists in a neon-drenched, chrome-plated sci-fi world full of robots and laser grids. The brilliance lies in how these two separate realities constantly overlap, making it arguably one of the most creative level and game mechanic designs for a co-op game, or any video game, ever.

The stars finally lined up, and I was able to play Cyberpunk 2077 almost five years after its release. Honestly, I didn’t even know what to expect. My hype and expectations for the game have been on a rollercoaster these past few years, but I can honestly say the experience of playing it for the first time in 2025 was still beyond what I expected, given its history.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War is a triumphant action RPG built on a foundation of compelling systems. The game's addictive Nemesis, Follower, and Fortress systems create a cycle of conquest and personal narrative that makes every encounter feel unique. The fluid free-flow combat and deep progression mechanics combine for a deeply rewarding experience.

Disco Elysium is a masterclass in storytelling and role-playing, combining deep, witty dialogue with a haunting atmosphere and innovative mechanics that redefine what RPGs can be.

Doom: Dark Ages refines classic fast-paced combat with streamlined mechanics and tight level design, delivering a solid and satisfying experience despite some simplified visuals.

The Alters surprised me as one of the most compelling strategy/survival games this year. At first glance, it reminded me of Fallout Shelter or XCOM, but it quickly reveals deeper, thought-provoking themes wrapped inside an addictive base-building experience.

For those wondering, yes, it is made by the same makers of the excellent rogue-lite Brotato (hence the Potato theme).

The 2023 GOTY contender Resident Evil 4 has finally made its mark on Apple devices, bringing the recent and already iconic survival horror experience to mobile phones, tablets, and Mac. Capcom's decision to release this remake on Apple devices is a significant milestone for mobile gaming, especially considering the game's recent release this year for current-gen consoles and PC. This is probably the first time we are getting a 1:1 mobile port of a technically and visually impressive AAA game, in the same year.

Once Human is an upcoming fascinating amalgamation of multiple video game themes; Death Stranding, Control, and Alan Wake, blending post-apocalyptic and sci-fi elements into a genre that I somewhat found surprising and out-of-place, ---- an open-world sandbox. The game introduces players to a world ravaged by the Stardust, an alien entity infesting everything, turning them into monstrous forms. As a Meta-Human, players harness the power of Stardust to survive, fight, build, and explore in a world where humanity is on the brink of extinction.

Since my previous review during the open beta, THE FINALS has officially launched on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation, marking its official entry into the highly competitive market of team-based FPS games, announced during The Game Awards show.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora takes players on an immersive journey into the world of Pandora, expanding upon the lore established in James Cameron's epic cinematic universe. As a first-person action-adventure game, it combines the lush yet dangerous environments of Avatar with the open-world design reminiscent of Ubisoft's Far Cry series. Ubisoft is really the perfect company to make Avatar video games with their experience on Far Cry.

The Division has always been described by me and my peers as 'Diablo with guns,' and this description holds true. It's a looter shooter with Action RPG elements, which can be quite addicting. However, I have always struggled to reconcile the concept of its realistic, grounded setting with its RPG mechanics. Suspension of disbelief is one thing, but seeing a Diablo-like game in a shooter's skin felt odd to me. Ordinary individuals with guns in our real world, yet they need to find legendary firearms to defeat bullet sponge enemies that are also supposed to be humans. Despite this, The Division's system works exceptionally well once you immerse yourself in gameplay.

I never was a big Super Mario fan, but I did play a lot of it during my NES and SNES childhood days. It's one of the earliest gaming experiences I've ever had, especially with Super Mario Bros. 1 and 3. I also a played some Mario Kart on the Switch and their recent 3D platformers, but Wonder is just really special. Classic 2D platformer Mario is back, and it's probably the best Super Mario game to date.

I first noticed this interesting game -- Lords of the Fallen -- many years ago on Steam, but I never got around to playing it. It appeared on my radar quite a few times, especially during Steam sales, but I never had the chance to try it. Fortunately, they made a reboot, and I played that instead.

More than 10 years ago, me and my friends used to play this popular Warcraft III mod called "Fight of Characters". It's basically a Dota/MOBA like game that instead features popular characters from popular Animes such as Dragon Ball, One Piece, Naruto, and more.

JUMP: Assemble is upcoming Anime-based MOBA for fans of the genre and anime enthusiasts alike. This game unites beloved manga and anime characters from Weekly Shōnen Jump series in epic 5v5 team battles.

When I first saw the game reveal of Unrecord four months ago, I was immediately wowed by its ultra-realistic graphics that use body cam-style first-person perspective, blending seamlessly with photorealistic visuals and animations resulting in terrifyingly lifelike visuals. However, this is not Unrecord, but a mobile game titled REC.O.R.D. It's pretty darn close though, even the similar names speaks for themselves.

Polygon Arena: Online Shooter is a low-poly mobile shooter that's easy to pick up, and designed for casual play with room for some competitiveness. It pits players of up to 8 vs 8 across various Arenas (currently four as of the Open Beta Test). The game is still in heavy development but an Open Beta Test is currently underway for everyone to try.

Forza Motorsport is the thirteenth installment in the renowned Forza racing video game series. It is a soft reboot of sorts with high expectations and a storied history to uphold, this racing simulation game has faced the challenge of redefining the series for a new generation.

Unlike its predecessors, it ditches the numerical sequencing, opting for a fresh approach to the series. The game was launched recently on PC and Xbox. Starstride is an online Action RPG that blends the unlikely combination of high fantasy with sci-fi, and it works out quite well. Two allied factions, Neoterrans and Wokens, are at war against a mysterious alien civilization. Your character is one of the few powerful fighters remaining after a mysterious defeat at the hands of the enemy's leader.

✨Overview Metal Mind is a pixel rogue-lite stick shooter where players take on the role of a mech that can change its parts and gear on the fly. The game was originally released on PC (Steam) last year for an upfront cost of $18, but I had the privilege of trying out a pre-release build of the Android version, and I must say, it transitions quite seamlessly to the mobile platform, if not even better suited for it.

If you have played twin-stick shooters and retro pixel-style rogue-lites, then Metal Mind should feel familiar you, The gameplay mechanics of Metal Mind follow a classic twin-stick shooter formula, but with a twist. It’s actually a “single-stick” shooter because aiming is already done automatically. You just have to fire the weapon, or activate abilities.

I was fortunate enough to be able to try out the Android demo for the upcoming Concerto on White, and I was pleasantly impressed by its blend of rhythm-based gaming, musical simulation, and visual novel style storytelling.

Concerto on White consists of two main ideas blended into one harmonious composition. The school academy life, and actual rhythm game gameplay. The school academy life is where you can attend classes, interact with your schoolmates, and practice music, all presented in a chapter-style visual novel storytelling.

The opening scene of the new Reverse: 1999 trailer sets the tone with an impressive CG cutscene, once again showcasing the game's unique and excellent voice acting. Notably, Schneider, one of the prominent Arcanist characters in the trailer, impressively sports an Italian accent.

Lies of P Ever since Dark Souls' success in 2011, there has been no shortage of these so-called Souls-like games. And now, we have another game with Lies of P, and it's one of the most promising entries yet in the Souls-like genre.

Lies of P offers a fresh twist on the classic story of Pinocchio, set against the backdrop of the enchanting 19th century Belle Époque era. The game plunges players into the city of Krat, a place powered by the mysterious mineral Ergo but now plagued by a frenzy that has turned its puppet inhabitants against humanity. The game weaves a dark and compelling tale of a city torn apart by greed and the lust for power. As the silent Pinocchio, the player is tasked with navigating this perilous world while concealing and “lying” his true identity as a puppet.

Assassin's Creed Mirage promises to be a refreshing return to the franchise's roots. POPUCOM is an upcoming multiplayer cooperative puzzle adventure platformer that emphasizes color-switching, match-3 shooting, and utilizing various companions cooperatively to progress through a mysterious vibrant world. Recently announced a few days ago with a trailer and mini-game (more info further down below) to go along with it, the game is set to be released for PC and PlayStation, offering a multiplayer cooperative puzzle adventure experience.

lyndonguitar Get Torchlight Infinite: The City of Aeterna is the latest season of Torchlight Infinite, an action-RPG where players can expect fast-paced combat, an abundance of loot, and a range of character customization options. The game features fine graphics and smooth performance, making it one of the better ARPG options on mobile today. The City of Aeterna, dubbed as “The Lost City” is now returning as part of Torchlight Infinite’s latest content update.

The resurgence of split-screen cooperative games, spearheaded by the 2021 Game Awards GOTY winner, It Takes Two, marks a heartwarming return to the roots of shared gaming experiences. Nowadays, even blockbuster hits such as Baldur's Gate 3 even has split-screen coop. It reminds us of the sheer joy and camaraderie that local co-op gaming can provide, offering a refreshing break from the ultra-competitive titles saturating the multiplayer market today. With the announcement of POPUCOM, it appears that another promising cooperative gem is on the horizon.

Whether that journey has been for better or worse, well, I'd let my review speak for itself.

eFootball 2024 is the latest yearly iteration of the eFootball series, which was previously known as Pro Evolution Soccer (PES), released for mobile devices, PC, and consoles. The base game is free-to-play, but eFootball 2024 generates revenue through microtransactions. Players have the option to spend real money within the game to purchase various in-game items and content.

lyndonguitar Get SYNCED is an ambitious entry into the looter shooter genre, offering a unique blend of cooperative and PvP gameplay set in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by advanced nanomachines. It takes a lot of inspirations from other genres too, mixing rogue-lite elements, battle royale mechanics, and even Pokemon style of capturing and commanding powerful Nano creatures. SYNCED is set to release on September 8 for PC, Xbox, and Playstation systems.

SYNCED is a looter shooter with a gameplay that revolves around players venturing into the semi-open world to clear out increasingly challenging segments that are infested with nano creatures. These missions culminate in intense boss fights that require teamwork, strategy, and coordination when in team-based mode, but the game is also viable when played Solo, such is my experience for the majority of my PvE playthrough.

Aether Gazer, the popular hack-and-slash gacha ARPG game for Android and iOS.(Endorsed by the Aether Gazer website, PC is also playable via emulator). It has recently unveiled its much-anticipated update for its global version, titled "Shadow Under Convallaria.", following the previous update last month “Where the Butterfly Belongs”.

Torchlight Infinite is the latest installment in the beloved Torchlight ARPG franchise, offering fast-paced battles and cross progression across platforms. Players explore a fantasy world, collect endless loot, and customize heroes with unique skills and legendary gear. In addition, it features fine graphics and smooth performance, making it one of the better ARPG options on mobile today.

The latest collaboration between Goddess of Victory: Nikke and Nier: Automata is now live! Both Goddess of Victory: Nikke (or Nikke for short) and Nier: Automata have not been short of collaboration events with other franchises, such as Chainsaw Man with Nikke, or Nier: Automata with even more ridiculous crossovers like Rainbow Six: Siege, PUBG, and Fall Guys. However, both games might have found a match made in heaven with what might be the most sensical crossover yet, featuring very similar themes: sexy girls fighting aliens and robots.

Developed by Shift Up, Goddess of Victory: Nikke, or Nikke is a free-to-play sci-fi shooter that has garnered attention for its action-packed gameplay and, well, it's rather unique exaggerated physics. The game features a cast of buxom waifu characters, each armed to the teeth and ready for action. While the gameplay itself is no joke, what really sets Nikke apart is its over the shoulder and cover action, and playful approach to character movement, where the recoil from shooting causes certain assets to, shall we say, exhibit quite noticeable jiggle. It's unapologetically over-the-top, and players have embraced it for its fan service fun.

lyndonguitar Download From the highly popular Rainbow Six franchise, Rainbow Six Mobile is a free-to-play competitive, multiplayer first-person shooter experience tailor made for mobile phones, which has now been soft launched in a limited capacity. It is now available in Canada for both iOS and Android, while the Soft Launch for other countries will go live starting with Mexico on September 4, with more coming next month.

Rainbow Six Mobile features the same PvP FPS experience that started with Rainbow Six Siege back in 2015, which has continuously been updated throughout the years with new content, operators, and changes.

Wayfinder was recently released in paid early access form last August 18, debuting amidst a host of server problems that garnered an initial overwhelmingly negative reaction. More recently, servers have been patched up and the queues have gone from literal hours to just a minute or less. More than a week after its release, I was finally able to personally experience the game and see firsthand what all the fuss is about.

DanMachi BATTLE CHRONICLE is a gacha-based ARPG set in the enchanting world of Orario from the "Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon?" anime. I was able to play the demo version that allows players to experience the story up to Chapter 2. Notably, any saved data from the demo can be seamlessly transferred to the full version of the game once players purchase it.

Metria is an action RPG currently in development for mobile devices. It is currently conducting an Alpha test from June 13, 2023, to June 20, 2023 and players are free to test out this title. Since this is an Alpha test, expect this to be in a very early state, and not even close to playable and enjoyable.

It features a 18-character roster of both new and returning fighters rendered in new Full 3D art style that looks much closer now to contemporaries like Tekken, than the classic 2D or artistic visuals of Street Fighter, however, the spirit of Street Fighter is still felt here. Street Fighter 6’s roster of 18 characters is mostly familiar, with 12 returning characters and six being entirely new.

Somnolent: Action RPG Fantasy is a third person action RPG game set in a world where dreams exist and can be entered by warriors called dreamwalkers.

The eponymous Somnolent is a world called the dreamcatcher where the game is also set. It is a place where good dreams pass through, while bad dreams get stuck. In layman's terms, Somnolent functions as a filter. This requires the dreamwalkers — warriors summoned to defend dreams — to constantly purge Somnolent of the bad dreams that get trapped in the lands and the nightmarish monsters spawned by them.

I played Door Kickers on PC many years ago and now, playing it’s mobile port, it brings the same intense and strategic gameplay that made it a hit on the larger screen. Developed by KillHouse Games, Door Kickers offers an intense mix of tactical planning, real-time execution, and satisfyingly challenging missions — assuming it goes well.

The Shapeshifting Detective is set in a small, remote town called August, where a murder has taken place in the local hotel called the “Guesthouse”. Players take on the role of a detective who is tasked with solving the murder by using their shape-shifting ability — only known by the higher-ups and not by any of the characters in the town — to gather information and interact with the game's cast of characters. This allows for interesting interactions between characters and easy access to information that would otherwise be unobtainable with a regular Detective.

The art style is impressive and while it features gacha and waifu aspects, they’re not over the top and the characters are not blown out of proportions. Grand Quest is seemingly set in a steampunk universe where there is magic and technology, but the world is clean and pristine looking than most interpretations.

Terra Nil is a nature building / reverse city building strategy game developed by Free Lives and released for both Mobile platforms and PC.

Flash Party is a platformer fighting game developed by XD and is released free-to-play for both Android and PC platforms, featuring a gameplay inspired by Super Smash Bros., with its own original characters and live-service element.

Brotato is a survival roguelite wave shooter playable with one hand. Originally released for PCs as an early access, it has now been recently released on Android and iOS as a full title, after going into an open beta just recently. This mobile release brings the game closer to feature parity with the existing PC version.

Persona 5: The Phantom X is a role-playing game with turn-based combat, slice of life elements, and an anime-inspired art style. A mobile spin-off of the mainline game Persona 5, it takes us back to Japan and reintroduces us to the Phantom Thieves with a brand new protagonist and fresh roster of characters. It is catered more to the mobile platform market — a first in the series, and is now currently in beta (Android) available for China. A PC version is also available for testing, it is a full-on game client and not an emulated Android version.

One handed gameplay, increasingly difficult waves of enemies. Six weapons all at once, all attacking simultaneously. That’s the basic gist of Brotato. For those familiar with the game Vampire Survivors, Brotato is essentially a welcome clone.

What if the idea of a city building game is turned on its head? Whereas the main objective of the game is not to build a huge bustling city, but instead to build a natural living world without any trace of technology or artificiality? Terra Nil is exactly that game for a change. A strategy game where players construct and deconstruct terraforming structures with the ultimate goal of restoring the land.

I tried out Flash Party recently, coinciding with the recent update Season 9 and I got to say, after going in blind in playing it, the graphics and gameplay actually wowed me. I am using an old 2018 flagship android phone to play it and the visuals still look crisp and nice with console levels of quality that even looks better than the Switch’s own Super Smash Bros.

After Resident Evil 2 and 3 were remade, the next logical target (aside from Code Veronica) was a Resident Evil 4 remake. I was one of the naysayers back then saying that Resident Evil 4, with its still decent 3D graphics, doesn’t need a remake yet. Boy I was wrong. This first impression is all about me eating my words and playing myself, because let me tell you, Resident Evil 4 Remake (or just Resident Evil 4) is a beautiful reimagining of the 2005 masterpiece.

But if you’re coming into this review without having played the first two games, don’t leave just yet, as Voice of Cards: The Beasts of Burden is another standalone title that you can start the trilogy with, just all set in the same world. They all came out at the same time for both iOS and Android which might make it confusing for newcomers, but you can play them in any specific order.

I played the Demo of the newly released game titled Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars Chapter 0. The Demo is monikered “Chapter 0” and is meant to introduce us to the Voice of Cards trilogy which started in 2021 and ended in 2022, now recently released for the Mobile platform. More specifically, Chapter 0 serves as a prelude to the first game in the series. It is only a short demo and I was pretty done after an hour or so.

Lucid Lenses’ story is deep rooted in astronomy and the study of the cosmos. It features two star-crossed lives turned lovers living seemingly normal lives in somewhat unique circumstances; the man, Reymond, seems to be a smart astrophysicist locked in prison, and the woman, Emily, a university student studying astronomy, is accompanied by her blue bird that she can communicate with.

This is what happens when even a one-handed game like Vampire Survivors is still too much work. We now enter the realm of Idle and AFK games where you don’t even have to do anything to play and progress. Alice, Final Weapon : Idle RPG is another entry in this popular mobile genre.

Mighty DOOM is a top down single handed rogue-lite shooter set in the DOOM universe. It is available for Android and iOS as a free-to-play title with in-app purchases.

Storyteller is a unique drag and drop puzzle game with fascinating novel mechanics and a cute medieval inspired artstyle. You are given multiple empty panels for a given scenario, plus a multitude of settings and characters to place per scenario. It’s up to you to arrange them in a way that will fit the scenario’s objectives. Be it somebody dying, living happily ever after, or getting revenge; you need to satisfy the objective in order to solve the puzzle.

Slenderman RE: Light Edition is an adventure horror mobile game based on the Slender Man supernatural character. It is played in first person view and plays like an adventure game where you are to interact with the environment in order to progress.

Alice, Final Weapon : Idle RPG , or ALICE is an idle monster killing RPG game with typical anime-style visuals and cel-shaded graphics, where players infinitely kill monsters in a never-ending cycle. There is no in-game story, and the whole focus is the non-stop gameplay.

The gameplay of Thunder Samurai Defend Village is simple. Enemies come from both sides, you can either tap on the left to attack left, or tap on the right to attack right. You can activate a special lightning attack when fully charged. No need to move, jump, block, or do some platforming maneuvers. Each enemy dies in a single hit and the game seemingly plays infinitely in a singular level, with high scores being the one and only end goal.

Dead by Daylight is a multiplayer survival horror game that has gained immense popularity among gamers since its initial debut in 2016 for PC and consoles. It was later made available for mobile devices in 2020. I tried out the recent revamped mobile version of the game called Dead by Daylight Mobile and had the chance to explore its various features and gameplay.

Diablo IV is an action RPG developed and published by Blizzard, and the fourth game in the critically acclaimed and highly popular Diablo game series. It is scheduled for release on June 6, 2023, with a beta test currently in progress. The early access runs from March 17 to 19, with an open beta available next week March 24-26, free to try for everyone.

Vampire Survivors might not seem like a really good nor addictive game judging from the pixel art graphics, but trust me, it is one of the most addicting games that have come out in recent years.

Bayonetta is a series that has never been known for its immersive storytelling and child friendly nature, but that is about to change with the release of Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon. Teased as a secret chapter in Bayonetta 3, it is a full blown adventure game with a children’s book style approach. It is now available for the Nintendo Switch as an exclusive, following Bayonetta 2 and 3.

I got the chance to play the early access beta test of the upcoming game Diablo IV, and my experience with the gameplay has been nothing short of amazing so far. It still looks and plays like a proper Diablo game, with respect to both Diablo II and III.

Vampire Survivors is a 2D survival rogue-lite game that is completely playable with just one hand. Players just need to control the character’s movements, and that’s the whole control scheme of the game. The player character automatically attacks and defends itself against waves of waves of monsters and have to survive as long as they can, usually up to 20 to 30 minutes.
